Don’t Eat the Paintings

September 21, 2010

Recently, I’ve found myself being a bit more creative in the kitchen.  It started with attempting mint tea {I found mint growing in the backyard} and then this weekend I decided to tackle chicken parm – making my own breadcrumbs and everything!  These paintings fit right it with my cooking explorations.  Hayley from We Made it Home has combined her love of food and art into this creative endeavor she has entitled Don’t Eat the Paintings.  Make sure to pop over there and see several of her other paintings as well.

OK Go

OK Go released their latest video yesterday – with some furry friends helping them out. I love how creative these guys are with their videos and after spending an hour or so watching them all yesterday, I figured you might enjoy them too!

Decorative Knots

September 20, 2010

I recently took this book out of my local library, and ended up spending most of this past weekend learning from it how to tie knots!  After the initial confusion of interpreting the illustrations (see below for an example of knot tying illustrations!) and trying to figure out when to go under, and when to go over – I ended up learning a few of the basics and enjoyed thinking of new projects to apply my new-found skill to.

Not sure how comfortable these would be to lay your head on… but these pillow offerings from My Adobe Cottage are still charming!

Back to School Packs

September 7, 2010

Labor day weekend always seems to signify the transition from summer to fall – and with that comes back to school season.  A fundamental of going to school is a good pack to tote everything around.  If only I could justify needing one even though I’m not in school!

Top – hasso
Bottom – Urban Outfitters, Archival Clothing, Hard Graft, steven alan
